Split lighting dramatizes the effect of the dim lighting in the locker room and serves to draw the viewers attention not only to the face, but to the uniform and the number. He was also backlit which causes some of the lighting to wrap around him and give him dimension, separating him from the background. This is certain to be a unique favorite!
