This image was one of the last ones we were able to take before the children decided that "enough was enough!" I think the looks on the faces of the adults are priceless! They were happy being with the children, no matter what was happening! This image is truely one for the family album!

Merry Christmas, Everyone!!
This is a close up of one of my very favorite Christmas images we did this year! The joy and excitement on this young girl's face at the prospect of speaking with Santa is representative of the complete innocence of childhood! I hope everyone who reads this blog is enjoying the quiet peace of the day and is able to reflect on our blessings! There's a song in the movie "White Christmas" that we could all learn from..."when I find myself not able to sleep, I count my blessings instead of sheep!" Then, and only then, can we find a cure for the insomnia that has captured the world!

We Stand United!
I wanted a patriotic feel to this team image and with the flags and the composition of the subjects, I think it worked. As simple as the pose is, it took a while to to position everyone just right so that I could see everyone's face Then, I sat down on the floor in front of the team and shot away! I love the results!

Christmas At Home
I love the rich, warm colors of the wood in this image! It lends itself to the warm colors of the subjects faces, clothing and the overall feel of the composition. You can almost hear the crackling of the fire in the fireplace and can imagine snow falling in the yard! All in all....a wonderful family holiday image.
Caught In the Middle!
There's just something about this image that grags at your heart! This little one was the flower girl at our recent wedding and, in a break between pictures, I snapped this shot of her with her mom and dad, who were also in the wedding. I would love to know what the little girl is thinking at precisely this moment! But it's a great image of a young family.....one for the album, for certain!

Pillars of Strength!
This strong composition is one of my favorites from our weekend wedding images. The bride and groom are framed within the doorway, framed again by the pillars and, lastly, framed by the outer edges of the image. All frame lines lead to our wedding couple as they are backlighted and "pop" from the background!

Engaging Moment!
This is one of my favorite images from our weekend engagement session in Pittsburgh. We were on the grounds of the Mellon Center for the Arts and I spotted this tree that still had it's colorful leaves. My 70-200mm lens necessitated me taking this image from a long way away from the couple because I wanted the gorgeous background to fall softly out of focus behind them. I'm very pleased with the effect!

Siblings
I couldn't resist posting this wonderful image taken at one of our family sessions. It has such a warmness to it..you can almost feel the soft breeze. What's great about this image is the closeness of the two siblings and how it's communicated to us in the pose. What a timeless treasure for their parents!

Biding His Time
This is a great image of our senior football player. Split lighting dramatizes the effect of the dim lighting in the locker room and serves to draw the viewers attention not only to the face, but to the uniform and the number. He was also backlit which causes some of the lighting to wrap around him and give him dimension, separating him from the background. This is certain to be a unique favorite!

Backlit Beauty!
This is another one of my favorite images from the wedding this past weekend. The church was decorated beautifully with the small lanterns you see in the picture and they just added to the backlit look we wanted to achieve. The perspective of the pews lead your eyes right to the couple as they share a quiet moment. This image is a "must" for any wedding album!

Looking to the Future!
This is one of the images from our wedding we photographed this weekend. I happened to step outside and notice this gorgeous sky. I immediately ran back into the reception hall and grabbed the bride and groom for a quick shot and this is the result! I love it and I'm certain the bride and groom will, also! I opted for split lighting on the subjects to increase the dramatics of the image and I think it went well with the beautiful October sky!

Brothers
River Scene
The Ohio River provides a beautiful background for this early afternoon family portrait! The sky had just the right amount of clouds and the tree at the left shaded the family enough to show the direction of light coming from my off-camera flash to the right. All in all, I was very pleased with this image!

Fall is Here!
Yes, fall is finally here and it's a great time of year for family portraits! Here's a beautiful one from one of our shoots this weekend. I love the gorgeous colors in this image, from the greens and vibrant reds to the muted fall colors in the soft background...all of it combines for a wonderful family treasure!

Autumn Beauty
Pillars of Beauty
The combination of a beautiful location and a gorgeous bride equals an exquisite bridal portrait! This is one of many from our weekend bridal session. The off-camera lighting coming in from the left side accentuates the detail in the bride's gown and makes her the center of attention in this lovely image!

Lighting the Aisle
Here's an image from this past weekend's wedding. We did the videography and some good photographer friends of ours from Classic Touch Imaging did the photography. I took some images to use on the DVD covers and this one was my favorite. I had never heard of aisle candleabras before but aren't they beautiful?

Pretty In Pink!
Family Time!
I love the feel of this family portrait! It's relaxed and casual and in a beautiful location. The off-camera lighting adds to the depth of the image and preserves the richness of the end of summer colors! This is one of my favorites from this weekend's family portrait session. Let me know what you think!

Groomsmen In Green
Don't you love this shade of green? It was striking against both the white shirts and the black jackets! I call this the "Marine Pose" because of the roadsign advertising the Marines. It seemed to serve this groom and his attendants well and this pose can be used for any number of groomsmen in the wedding party!
